(WIETY)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We were involved with a photo elicitation study that uses\u00a0photos obtained by the participant to represent their ideas of engineering to\u00a0answer the question: \u201cWhat is engineering to you?\u201d This project\u2019s goal was to explore photo elicitation as a research and\u00a0pedagogical method in relation to engineering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research Questions:<\/strong> How can photo elicitation as a \u00a0research on conceptions of\u00a0engineering held by people of different backgrounds? Also, how can it be used as\u00a0a pedagogical tool to aid in the development\u00a0 of conceptions of engineering?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Methods:<\/strong> Data analysis for this project is done on transcripts of interviews, plus photographic artifacts.\u00a0 Participants engage in 3 interviews. \u00a0We used emergent\u00a0qualitative coding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Publications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jordan, Shawn,\u00a0Robin Adams, Alice Pawley, and David Radcliffe. \u201cThe Affordances of Photo Elicitation as a Research and Pedagogical Method.\u201d Conference proceedings of the Frontiers in Education Conference, San Antonio TX (October 18-21, 2009).
